Not sure if they allow propane in the tunnel. I would take the hazmat route around to be safe.

You will almost always hit traffic (big time) going through DC, unless you go through at 10:30 at night.

Flying J @ exit 100A in MD, many truckstops at mm 204 in Va, then Kenly, NC, St George, SC, Brunswick, Ga.

Md tunnels with propane is a NO, from De take Route 1 near the Christiana Mall then pick up 301 from there then follow that back to 95 just above DC or stay on 301 (traffic lights) even farther getting back on 95 at exit 104 in Va. There are tolls on the 301 bypass. Do you plan on any overnight stops? This could change some routing.

I’m pretty sure this applies for all routes……
Vehicles with propane are ALMOST always restricted from tunnel routes. Either plan another route, or like at Detroit crossing, you’re forced to take the bridge versus the tunnel.

YMMV.

I would head out west to avoid Philly and Washington DC

I-81 towards Knoxville then head south

Lots of nice places out there

Most tunnels only require propane in RV's to be turned OFF
a lot of them have pull over area so you can get out and turn it off

https://mdta.maryland.gov/Toll_Facilities/BHT.html

Vehicles carrying bottled propane gas in excess of 10 pounds per container (maximum of 10 containers), bulk gasoline, explosives, significant amounts of radioactive materials, and other hazardous materials are prohibited from using both the Fort McHenry and Baltimore Harbor Tunnels. In addition, vehicles in excess of 13 feet, 6 inches, in height, or 96 inches (8 feet) in width; and all double trailers are prohibited from using the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel. For additional information regarding these restrictions, please call 410-537-1374.

guess my long post got eliminated on the merge.

95 south, and follow signs for the Francis Scott Key bridge. I think its a left exit off 95 above Baltimore. this will dump you back into 95 below Baltimore. Good luck with Washington, your on your own there.
-----------
Another Option several full timers from NY have told me about.

Or if you got time, come down to Delaware and around Christiana jump on Rt 7 south, this gets you to RT 1 south, which follows 13 all the way down to Dover where you want 13 south. there is plenty of fuel (including diesel) along this route. I Recommend filling up before crossing the Chesapeake bay bridge tunnel. Just above the Chesapeake Bridge tunnel on your LS is a giant parking lot, pull in there to turn off your propane. (and spend the night if you want. (Most of the trucks stick to the North side of this parking lot so stick to the middle for more quiet). From here Cross the bridge/tunnel. It might cost $34.00 or so since you have a MH and a trailer depending on number of axles. (I recommend EZpass).

On other side of bridge its a short section with a couple lights and you will look for 64 going in a south direction.

When you get off 13 to 64 there is 2 exit lanes on the Right side of 13, you want the Left of those 2 exit lanes.
Continue on 64 in a southern directions, which sort of changes to a west direction as you are going around Norfolk in a clockwise direction. look for RT 168 south, once you get off 64 168 splits left and 17 splits right, take 17.

(This is the only real traffic on this route, from 13/64 down to 17/168 split. Might be 15 miles or so of traffic, take your time stay out of the left lanes and you will be OK).

Once your on 17 you can look for a place to pull over to turn back on your propane. It will be OK turned off for that long.

Follow 17 back to 64 in North Caroline which takes you back to 95.

----------------------Option from Norfolk to 95)

Others might tell you to skip 168 and continue around Norfolk until you get to 58, follow that back to 95 still in VA.

this is just guidance as I never used that RT 13 method to get around Baltimore/Washington/Richmond (only to get to Outer banks).
I lived far enough west in PA that I could run out turnpike to 81, take that all the way down to 77 all the way to Columbia, than 26 to 95 south.

Check it out on your maps, GPS and decide how you want to go. Be Careful in Norfolk, when GPS was new(er) I might have hit Norfolk on a Sunday AM and got routed right through the middle (set to shortest instead of fastest)

I would do the I 81 route to 77 to 85 to 75 south as suggeste earlier. No tolls and no DC or Baltimore to deal with. For an overnight just 200 miles north of Ocala is Carrols Sausage and Smoke house. They have campsites with power and water, not sure about sewer. First come first serve. Carrollssausage.com
