Bethel, NY (Woodstock '69)

We are traveling to the Bethel NY area in August for a concert at the old Woodstock music grounds. We want to stay in our camper but can't find a place that has full RV hookups and decent cabins (for a couple that will be meeting us there). Does anyone know of a decent place that has both RV sites and nice cabins? Of course, the cost is a consideration too. Like the Jellystone campgrounds are too expensive for this trip because our main purpose is to see the concert, not camp.

I hadn't heard of that concert. Can you provide a link with more information?

Good Luck as most of the campgrounds in that area do not have full hookups. This one is great.(https://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/24501.html) spent much of my childhood here.

Prices will be CRAZY HIGH because of the "special event". If you REALLY want to attend the concert, you'll have to pay for the privilege.

Burning Man is another "special event" for which the price of admission has gone through the roof over the last decade. Largely due, in my opinion, to sheer profiteering.

As long as rubes will pay through the nose, the "Fat Cats" will claim "it's just business". The only way prices will come down will be if sales drop off.

Concerts are scheduled at the amphitheater next to the original Woodstock grounds all summer long.

Nickerson Campground in Gilboa, NY is one hour north of Woodstock, NY but two hours from Bethel Woods, NY, the site of the original Woodstock Festival and home to the Woodstock Museum and Bethel Woods Amphitheater where the concerts are held.

Skyway Camping Resort is 39 minutes away.

No, I do not. You are in the land of "old school" campgrounds. Drop the hook ups requirement and you'll be successful. Otherwise, you're SOL with FHU and inexpensive and nearby as criteria. Never hurts to ask.

That's 1-1/2 hours north of Woodstock in Bethel. Fantastic venue for a concert though. I have tickets to Steeley Dan that's been postponed from last July twice now moved to July '22. Hope they're all alive yet!

Talked to my sister who lives about 6 miles from the old Yasgur property (now called Bethelwoods. She said the only campground left in the area is ALL SEASONS CAMPSITE, 21 Bailey Lake Rd, Kiamesha Lake, NY , 12751, PH: (845) 794-0133.

Hour and a half north of the town of Woodstock, which is not where the festival of the same name was held. The amphitheater in Bethel is on the grounds and adjacent to the museum and field where the Woodstock Festival was held in 1969.

No, it's an hour and a half north of where the concert was in Bethel at Yasgur's Farm. I live an hour from there and have been to Bethel Woods many, many times for concerts. A friend of mine did all the landscaping there.

I know. I saw them there 2 years ago right after they found his replacement. He did a good job. I never saw them prior to his death but have always liked them and their concert was fantastic.
