Bristol TN - NHRA races

Looking for suggestions in Bristol TN area. Full hook ups are nice but electric only is fine. Will be attending NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals. Will only be there for one day of races. On-site RV camping requires 3-day tickets so that's not worth it. Thanks

I’m not sure if the terrace camping is open at Earhart CG for NHRA. Pretty sure the regular unreserved area is. Terrace (aka Level 5) has full hookups. Walking distance to the drag strip. Give them a call 423-764-4406. Really nice folks to work with.

Edit...I just checked their website and full hookup sites are available. I can’t see if it’s the terrace or the ones across the street, which you don’t want. Priced at $200 for five nights. Better than the Nascar price of $550. The CG is not affiliated with the speedway properties but they seem to get along well.

I've done Farmer Bobs for NASCAR in August, NO water or electric. But Close enough to walk and hear both tracks. Stayed 4 nights.

We've been staying at the Earhart CG (with full hook ups), for Thunder Valley for many years. It isn't screaming with amenities, but the sites are roomy, working electric and water, and they've improved the wi-fi. I've never used the on-site bathhouse, as we always use our own, so I can't report on them. But, its hard to beat being able to walk to the track from your site. We've never once had any problems as far as thefts or people getting out of hand, and their staff does do a good job of riding through and keeping an eye on things.

Last month we stayed at Shadrack campground for a couple days to take in the X-mas lights at the track. This campground is just down the road a mile or two. They have full hook-ups, and really clean bath house. But a crazy, crazy, tight driveway to get into the place. So if you have a really big rig it might be tricky. The campsites there looked like they could be pretty tight for a race weekend though. So, we're sticking with the convenience of Earhart.

Exclamation Bristol Camping

We have used Earhart Campgrounds for years. We have season tickets for NASCAR. If you only use 30 amp service you should be fine. We have 50 amp service and can only use one air conditioner at a time without blowing the breakers and have to turn off air if you run a hair dryer because the current draw will blow the breakers. We are moving this year onto Speedway parking because Earhart will not upgrade their electric services.
We usually stay on site 11 in the Ridges.

We go to nascar at Bristol so we stay south at Riverpark campground Jonesboro Tenn, it's about 1/2 hour drive to the track and a very nice place to stay with full hookups, have seen several OP staying there for the race, no partiers to deal with at this place

We stay there each year for a week. Nice place but all gravel. Huge flea market right across the road.
