Campground Suggestion between Jacksonville and Disney, FL
I am looking for suggestions for a campground between Jacksonville, FL and Disney in early November. I've done a little research and am looking at the Salt Springs area or possibly Daytona Beach area. We prefer sewer hookups. We would love to be on/near some body of water and no more than 2 hours from either place, ideally. Thanks in advance Frogs!

Should you happen to be active or retired military or appropriate civil service the campground on Mayport Naval Station is great.

Salt Springs Recreation Area is a nice park and the springs are very close. It has sewer.
The KOA in Deland is right on the saint Johns River and has sewer.
There are a couple of campgrounds in the Ormond area that are on the beach.

Your total travel distance between Jacksonville and Disney is only about 2 1/2 hours anyway, but almost exactly half way will put you near Ormond Beach North of Daytona. Here’s a campground just off I-95 and has everything you need. You can drive over to the beach North of Daytona within minutes, so you’ve got all the water you could need.
Check this out....

Flagler Beach is a cool place to spend the night. Literally right on the beach and good places to eat and drink.

If you are looking for coastal campgrounds book NOW. For the winter of 17-18 we were in Umatilla at Olde Millstream RV park. It was just over an hour from Orlando, Daytona, Space Coast, even the Gulf. And it was reasonably priced.

Look at Highbanks Marina and Csmp Resort in Debary. Inland on the St Johns River. Convenient to everything. Great weekly rates, full hookup.
Make sure to put Blue Spring State Park on your list of stops. One of the best places to see manatees in the winter. They have a campground by not sure of their hookups.
I would not suggest staying in this area with a plan of going to Orlando or Disney from there. Traffic would be an absolute nightmare. Stay near Orlando/Disney to do Disney stuff and stay out that way to do Daytona, St Augustine, Cape Canaveral, even Jax stuff. You really don't want to drive through Orlando twice in one day plus spend a day at a park!

Check out Bryn Mawr on the south side of St Augustine Beach... camping right at the ocean dunes, great beach, dog friendly, and full hookups.😎

We stayed at Ocean Grove in St. Augustine over Christmas. The reviews did not do this campground justice! Loved it and the area. Saw Bryn Mawr but didn't have the chance to check it out.

Yes, agree that Orlando is nightmarish! We may not necessarily visit The Mouse, but we are trying to be in the middle of Jacksonville (GA/FL football game) and also visit friends in Dundee (a little southwest of Orlando). Hubby doesn't want to break camp and move during the trip.
