Campgrounds in Niagara Falls

DW and I are headed to Niagara Falls mid to late June. Any help with camping in this area. We have a 37 foot fifth wheel. Thanks in advance for all your help.

wow Geotex, that campsite looks really nice! any advise on sites there? Like full hook up 30amp..which is the best in your opinon. We like to be away from the busy parts of the campground. I wish all campgrounds had interactive site views! Thanks for the info!

Very nice campground! We like the same sort of sites. The back loop - 50, 52 and 54 are what we like. Just don't take my spot!

Those are the exact sites I was looking at! Great minds think alike. I can't wait to reserve. We've been waiting to visit Niagra Falls, now it will be a GREAT trip with our new to us HTT. If the snow would just stop falling here in CT. We can't even get the trailer home because of it! I'm so excited. Thank you so much for the information about this campground!

You bet! Enjoy and good luck with the new HTT! Our former 21ss spent considerable time at Branches and many CGs in CT for that matter!

As a side, when at the falls, there are two seperate water falls that split the mighty niagra river, Horse shoe and the American falls. The most natural expierence while there, is on the American side. By that I mean the expierence of the natural beauty, as opposed to the vista seeing both falls from the Canadien side, is by literally walking up to the brink of the American falls on Goat Island (the oldest state park in the country). Goat Island in Niagara Falls New York Not sure how long you plan on staying but there are a few must does, so if interested drop me a pm. Enjoy your stay.

This subject comes up often. Do a little search and you'll find more info.

If you want to be fairly close and not too expensive, try 4 mile creek NY state park. Many here have been there! Just basic water and electric
hookups but great shower house and cheap! Easy drive to the falls.
The views aren't bad either!

Spent 10 days last summer at Golden Hills State Park about 45 minute drive from the falls. Beautiful park, quiet with a new bath house. There are 14 pull through sites close to lake front and light house with a total of 59 sites. The drive to the falls is not difficult and the price is right. With the campground tag parking is covered at the falls. Goat Island has a very nice parking area. When we were there last summer there was a lot of rain with some standing water around the campgrounds but it did not hinder the wonderful stay and the sunsets over the lake are beautiful.

Question, is it safe to try and camp up there in late June without reservations? We are just not sure of actual dates. Probably looking at about 3-4 nights.

We stayed at Branches of Niagara Campground last year in site 67, very nice campground.
Late June would be busy, I would have reservations.

We live on Grand Island, Branches of Niagara is very expensive in our opinion, $65 a night and all the xtra activities there you pay seperate. We also love FOUR MILE CREEK STATE PARK, in Lewiston, Ny. You can get a site over looking Lake Ontario. You can reserve thru reserveamerica.com or call, 1-800-456-camp.

We enjoyed the KOA on Grand Island. We also like the free camping at my in-laws LOL in North Tonawanda...

I also live on Grand Island, and I stayed at Branches of Niagara campground for 4 nights last year while a contractor was doing some work on my home. It's a nice campground, though it is a bit pricy. I believe it was $85.00 a night with 50 amp. and full hookups. Four Mile Creek State Park in Youngstown N.Y. also a nice park. I think it was $25.00-$29.00 a night. Electric only. But there are water faucets nearby to refill your water tank. Just bring enough hose.

Four Mile is also great! The storms can be incredible to watch!

There is a reason Branches is higher priced, and if you talk to the owners you will understand why. It is not actually out of greed, but they believe in escrowing money for perpetual maintenance, improvements and future renovations on top of the cost for dealing with full hook-ups. Privately owning a CG is no small cost so it's great when the owners plan for the future IMO. We have a number of private CGs we patron to support this and the preservation of green space.
