Closest - best non-Parris Island campgrounds near Beaufort, SC?

So far, only found Tuck in the Wood.
Looking for other options.
Would like to be under 20 miles from Beaufort.
On-base campground is off the table, unfortunately.

I want to try Onslow Beach at Lejeune one day. I keep bugging my retired buddy to get us a couple spots there. Only 120 miles from Beaufort!

Try Hunting Island State Park. Close to Beaufort and on the ocean.

About 25 miles from Beaufort.

We have stayed at that KOA a few times. Very nice.

Next to the KOA in Yemassee is also a campground called The Oaks at Point South. It is a Thousand Trails CG. We stayed there a week last year using out TT membership. Had a good many permanent residents there but it worked out for us. About a half hour from Beaufort, an hour from Charleston and about an hour from Savannah.

I wish we had picked the KOA or The Oaks. Tuck in the Woods is all sand, so when it rains the trailer wants to go off level. Plus you track the sand in the trailer. No way to avoid it. Add 90°+ and 90-100% humidity, and I couldn’t wait to g the fo of there. I will say that the bathroom and showers were clean, and the site hookups were good, and the water pressure was good. If you don’t mind camping in sand and heat and humidity, this is a well located campground for Parris Island, Beaufort, Bluffton, and even Savannah. Give me the Pennsylvania mountains every time.
