Coast Area Campground recommendation near Cape Cod or as far north as Portsmouth ME

Looking for a recommendation for a campground for a week stay around Cape Cod, or possibly as far north as Portsmouth ME

What we're looking for is full hookups and wooded, not a wide open field type. We don't need a lot of resort stuff since it's just the 2 of us and our little dog.

I saw one online in Cape Cod called Bay View that seems to fit, but you can only tell so much from websites.

We usually spend our week at Otter Lake in PA and like it there, but wanted to do something different this year where we can explore some coastline.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

We stayed at the Boston Minuteman Campground. Just about an hour outside of, you guessed it, Boston. Nice little place. Clean pool, fair priced laundry. Also close to Gloucester MA and lots of whale watching trips

Try sweetwater forest for a stay in wooded sites in Brewster ma.
I've stayed there in a tent and rv separate times, both off season early and late.
I avoid the Boston metro area as I work there daily.

Thanks for both suggestions. I'll check them out.
I found some Google reviews for Bay View on Cape Cod that I mentioned earlier and it looks pretty good. I was hoping some folks here had stayed there and could comment.

I'll definitely look up the ones from the 2 replies though.

Bay View is nice. We used to be seasonal there for years until moving further north. Be careful pulling in and out of the campground as that route is busy and fast.
Bourne Scenic Park is good also, it is on the Cape Cod Canal. Tough to get a site there.

Mid cape, I would recommend Atlantic Oaks.

Coast Area Campground recommendation near Cape Cod or as far north as Portsmouth ME

Bay view is OK, but almost all seasonal and the site you will get if you stay for a week, will be up front in a pull through near route 28. Close by is cape cod campground in Falmouth. Pretty nice site and not that many seasonal.

Going north, there is a little know gem in Salisbury called beach rose. Close to the beach. When you get to Maine, I would recommend BAYLEYS Resort in Scarborough, about 20 minutes south of Portland.
Great spot, we have been going there for 30 years

Portsmouth is in NH, not ME. Don't want you to get lost looking for Portsmouth, ME!

We stayed at Atlantic Oaks this past year. Great location. There is a nice bike path that runs by the campground that you can get to a lot of really nice places without having to pay for parking areas. Also, within 40 minutes drive of many nice scenic spots. Highly recommend!

RandK-M did you end up staying at Bay View? Any thoughts? We are thinking about a cape cod trip next year. BTW we love Otter Lake in the Poconos.

No, we ended up going back to Otter Lake again for this years week trip. Actually, we just got back home a few hours ago and Otter Lake went out of their way to help us. We were supposed to come home yesterday, but on Friday I had to leave in an ambulance do to a medical issue. My wife does NOT tow the camper and barely drives my truck . They needed our site for someone else that reserved it and the staff came down with their truck and took care of moving our camper to another site and setting it up for her for the extra days. They were very helpful to her.

In the two times we have stayed at Otter Lake we have not had any complaints. Hope all is well with you. Thanks for replying.
