Crystal Clear Water at......

About a year ago, someone posted some pics of a FL State Park that had a crystal clear swimming hole. I have been looking at the threads for the last 45 minutes and can't find the name of the state park. I know it was in FL and I know FL has a lot of SP's but I just can't find the park. It was fed by a spring and the water was beautiful. If anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate it. Looking to make a reservation in one of FL's many SP's but would really like to see those clear waters. Thanks

I know of a few, but they are up on the Suwannee river where I grew up.

Good Luck.

Thank you very much. I think I'll find something with all that. Appreciate it!

Find Florida State Park's website and there are numerous parks with springs. We plan on going to Rainbow Springs State park later this summer. We have been to Manatee Springs, it was great and a great place to swim. Just remember the water is about 72 degrees, that sounds warm till you get in it!!! LOL!!!

I live near Wekiva Springs, and the water is definitely clear. There is also a nice campground called Wekiva Falls Resort - great place for the family.

When I was a kid, we went to some place in Florida like you are describing. Except the pond or lake was full of fish and we rode in a glass bottom boat. It was awesome. I wish I could find that place again.

CampinCagun, that place would be Silver Springs in Ocala. It has now been taken over by the state, and has been merged with Silver river state park, which has camping, and the whole 9 yards is now included as one park. It has been re-named Silver Springs State Park. And yes, they are still operating their glass bottom boats, about 10.00 each. You can check out their state park website. Randy

Rainbow Springs is great in the summer months, they have tubing down the spring run, with a state park ran shuttle service to return from the tubing area, and the head spring area used to be a privately owned park. They had underwater viewing boats, a very nice shady path with lots of flowers, and a nice large swimming area there. The State park campgrounds are new, with full hookups, including sewer. Hard to get reservations though in the summer months. Located in Dunnellon Fl. Randy

Also check out Alexander and Juniper Springs in the Ocala area. Spent a lot of time canoeing there as a kid in the 70's.
