CT to Williamsburg, VA

In a few weeks, we're going to the Williamsburg KOA, what would be the best route to take with all of the construction going on on 95 in VA? When we stayed at Virginia Beach KOA we went across the Bay Bridge Tunnel, would that be the best route to take or just roll down 95?

Try and pick up 301 in Delaware and follow that into Va. it will bring you back to 95 one exit above Kings Dominion.

Made the trip many ytimes from CT to Williamsburg (as recent as January). Still can't find the best route. Stayed at the Williamsburg KOA (in a hurricane) and a nice place. Really close to Lowes for those uh oh's or things you forgot. Now for 95, round trip with your camper just for tolls is going to be $250+. Leave New England on or just before midnight. That will get you through NYC at night and DC before the morning rush hour.

yeah, we traveled back and forth to DE and VA Beach several times. I'm thinking of just going the bay bridge tunnel route since we did that going to the VA Beach KOA, but i'm ot a fan of that bridge/tunnel but its better then 95 around DC, baltimore, and all of the construction on 95.

I drove down to Florida this past winter. Taking 301 through DE/MD and hitting 95 in Doswell was a much more enjoyable ride than 95 around/through Baltimore and DC. You still hit traffic lights but it was still a nicer ride. I hate the Baltimore/DC area for driving, the insanity with the other drivers needs to be experienced to understand how bad it is.

Pick up 301 in Del.......follow into Richmond to 295 South.......then pick up 64 East into Williamsburg. Avoid 95 North of Richmond.
