What Diesel savings are you referring to? Let us know so we can all save...

Supply and demand

Do you think that maybe the prices are higher in PA is because the main routes that truckers use goes through PA? Im sure they use (% south, but according to my trucker friends, they try to go around New York, Washington DC . Also the fuel tax may be different from state to state. What are your thoughts?

I believe commercial trucks pay the state taxes based on miles driven in the specific states. Used to be this way, truckers carried a bingo card that shows where they paid the taxes and were authorized to drive. IFTA sticker replaced the bingo cards.

Sorry been traveling. It is called My Diesel Savings and it is part of “ Fuel Access Network RV Program
Innovation Energy Group“. I heard about from a YouTube channel sponsored by Johnny Rowlett. His channel is called “Full Time Freedom Tour”. This is the YouTube video I saw. The free give a way is gone but the info is there.
https://youtu.be/u4mPeG944Zw
The only reason I pulled up his video is he had the same DP I have now and was looking for tips. So do your own research, but it works great for us. It cost $10 to get signed up and $2 every time we use it. We save 20cents a gallon at least every time we use it, so the first 10 gallons pay for that. The rest is all savings. I have a 150 gallon tank so I get any where from 70 to 125 gallons when I fill. I know everyone is smart enough to do the math. Right now they have only so many companies n there program but I was told by Mark Berger that the more people using the more companies will get envolved.
Hope this wasn’t to long winded. And I just want to say it, I don’t work for them, I just keep saving money.

A trucker can pass through the whole state of PA and NJ to avoid fuel taxes. Fill up in Ohio, then in NYS. Funny thing is that years ago we avoided NYS fuel for the same reasons we now avoid PA fuel. Even with my 52 gallon tank on my motorhome I could pass across the whole state on I80.
That's the point about lowering taxes to match neighboring states. They could actually get more total revenue.

Most of the price increases are due to Covid. I don't think the election had much to do with it. Plant shutdowns, lack of delivery drivers and most of all, the money hungry oil companies that lost billions during the pandemic.

Another brain washed answer. The billionaire Buffett shutting down all the Union jobs on the pipeline so he can put that oil on his railroad. Sure is a lot safer transporting that oil through cities on moving cars and definitely a lot cheaper. Maybe do some real research other then watching CNN and the rest of the Fake News.

Trying to not make this about one party or another but if you shut down a pipeline (whether or not it feeds USA), that has been in the works for a long time, fossil fuel prices will go up worldwide. There are other policies that are anti-fossil fuel as well so that will easily result in making the prices higher.
Get ready for the infrastructure bill too, please read what our legislators are going to cost us. I'm ok with paying taxes if they are used properly.

I read that they want to pay for the 3.5T bill by taxing per mile nationwide. That would impact a LOT of RV travel. Price or fuel will be just a small part of traveling if that goes through.

PA is talking about adding a per mile tax for autos.
I don't see how they can separate out the miles driven out of state.

When they get done with us most will be full time RVers. Having had to sell our houses to pay the taxes.

Fuel prices dropped to multi year low levels due to covid causing reduced travel in 2020. As demand comes back and the Opec cartel continues to collude to keep supply low to increase their profits, prices will only go up. Supply and demand....

It's strange that pre-2020 we were told that the US was energy independent. Oil and natural gas were abundant, we were no longer dependent on OPEC for our oil. Natural gas drilling was also high, but prices remained high.

Then the gas companies started building pipelines in order to compress the natural gas and send it oversea. Same with our oil, and gasoline. We send it out, the companies make big money, and then we have to buy from OPEC.

Thank you.

September 2019 Diesel $2.85
October 2019 Diesel $2.69
November 2019 Diesel $2.79
December 2019 Diesel $2.69
January 2020 Diesel $2.89
February 2020 Diesel $2.59

These are all Pre Plandemic prices and not discounted TSD prices, but actual pump prices in WI.

Today it is $2.99

WI taxes have not gone up, so there really isn't too big a jump in actual FUEL prices, so don't blame the petro industries. IL prices are .40-.50c higher, and IL taxes DID go up.

And gas prices here in Western PA range from $3.11 to $3.35.
Of course PA has the the second highest gas tax in the US. First depending on how you look at all the other taxes imposed.
Plus, some of the worst roads in the country.

Supposed total taxes per gallon by state, just a list by alphabetical order, and not the entire country, just a few of them, rest can be viewed here.

CA 106.11 per gallon (cents)
PA 99.50
Arizona 51.40
NJ 68.6
Indiana 72.4 (thought they were lower than IL, guess not)
NM 47.28
IL 63.56

Of course County and city taxes are not included. In Chicago that is 71.2 cents per gallon, then there is the sales tax for county, city and state, along with other regional taxes, and by the time all said and done, a gallon of gas in Chicago has $1.022 tax on it.

I couldn't tell you the last time we bought gas or diesel in IL. Been years!

Arizona 19.00 #46
NJ 50.70 #4
Indiana 49.79 #7
NM 18.88 #47
IL 59.56 #2 A big ol' #2 for you.
