Emergency in kentucky

I’m in La Grange, Kentucky, on my way home to Ontario, Canada. I just pulled into the Walmart where I was going to spend the night and I hit a bump or a curb and the part that hold my leaf springs to my frame broke. Auto club is sending someone but I suspect it’ll just be a tow truck guy.
Does anyone know anyone local/mobile that can weld?

I just did a google search for Welders and there are a couple of mobile welders in nearby Louisville, KY. I'm happy to pass along phone numbers to you in a private message if you'd like?

Sure! Do you know if they normally do RV’s?

I'll message you a couple of phone numbers (I'm sure they would work on your RV). But you might want to wait to see what Formula1fan comes up with re: his message above.

Good luck

Thanks, I appreciate any help. I’m safe here, thankfully, but I have a bunch of pets with me and have to be at work on Monday.
I would be ever so grateful to find a way to fix it here!

He is going to call me back when he finds something out. He will be able to help you but it might be in the morning.

Had a similar issue.

Towing a rv and tv is extremely expensive. Mine was about $100 a mile. $1600.

Welding that brace in is not a big deal.

In our case the bolt holding the spring to the brace fell out at 64 mph. Destroyed the right suspension and all four tires.

Be calm. All part of the rv life. There will be a happy ending.

In my case, the rv insurance paid for the “accident” repairs. Today it is an interesting adventure. Part of the California trip!

If you can't find someone you could buy a mig welder at harbor freight for $200 and a spool of wire with flux. They are 110v so you could run it off your generator. https://www.harborfreight.com/easy-f...der-56355.html

There's 2 store within 15miles of LA Grange.

Welding on a frame is not ordinarily recommended. If it's just a hanger or something like that, sure.

That's why you use a certified welder, preferably at a frame/suspension shop.

What’s the alternative though? I’m dead in the water here, 500 miles from home [emoji22]
