Florida Recommended East/West Coast Campsites

Hello,

My wife and I are looking for recommendations of campsites, preferably on the
East and West coasts of Florida for the month(s) of January - February 2023. Have a 32' FR3. We'd like to stay approximately 2 weeks at each location to get a feel for possible future longer stays.

Appreciate suggestions, Thanks

Whatever you want you will need to book 11 months in advance for state parks (good luck beating the bots on the full hook up state parks) and many of the resorts will be grandfathering in so want to get on their lists. I use these sites for ideas:

https://www.campflorida.com/
https://campgrounds.rvlife.com/regions/florida
https://www.campsitephotos.com/

If you want ocean front or gulf front prepare to break out the cash! Good luck ...just made our reservations for Christmas couple days ago!

Camping a long weekend every month since starting in May of 2013 in order to practice for retirement .... Florida is a great state to have this bad habit

Ditto.
It's very difficult to get a site a the State Parks on any coast. Agree, you have to book out 11 months in advance, and be lucky. And the private RV parks are pricey. Maybe consider the COA parks along the Chattahoochee River near Eufaula, Al. Good campgrounds with great water views.

Not necessarily beach front, although would like that. Really just want suggestions on places where folks either have stayed or have heard good things about. Flying down next month and want to map out a plan to visit some places for ourselves.

Similar issue to Bidetor01, we are planning a southern Florida trip in Dec 2022. We were able to get a spot at Fort Wilderness and at Boyds in Kew West. I've contacted every other campground in the keys, from Homestead west, and cannot find a one, two or three-day spot between Orlando and Key West. We would like to have access to the eastern end of the Keys for those three days, but I guess we will need to layover somewhere in the Miami area. Any thoughts on finding a spot in the Keys? Is there any boondocking down there?

Thanks.

We enjoy:
Pecan Park, Jacksonville
Ocean Grove, St. Augustine
Road Runner, Fort Pierce
Topsail Hill SP, Santa Rosa Beach
Camp Gulf, Destin
PCB RV Resort, Panama City Beach
Fort Wilderness, Disney

We haven't found a bad State Park yet.

Want to try Red Coconut, Dunedin, Manatee Hammock, anything in the Keys.

Well CG's around me are booked solid. Lee/Charlotte County. We made our 1st trip out to Brighton RV Resort. Near Lake O. Pool, No Cable. Great Wifi. Store on site, gas/diesel. Casino down road. Nothing around. $700 Month. Veterans Discount. Cheap but no thrills.

Some winters like this year can get cold in the northern part of Florida but try Coastline, Carrabella, or Holiday CGs up in the Panhandle. Coastline is our favorite though. Thats if you're looking to go that far north.

Florida Coasts

We are in the middle of a coastal Florida trip right now. I have time to post cuz it is 50 and very windy here right now. Still much better that NY. We started our trip in St Augustine, Compass RV Resort. Ok campground, good place to explore St. Augustine. Next we went to Titusville, The Great Outdoors, huge resort with everything from plain campsites to houses with RV ports. Excellent place to tour Kennedy Space Center from. On to Fiesta Key on Long Key. Very nice resort right on the water. We booked next year before we left. Now we are in Fort De Soto, a county park right on the water. Excellent campground and miles of beautiful beaches. Monday we head to Fort Wilderness. We know that won't disappoint us. Good luck on your trip.

We have been coming to a Palm Beach County Park for the last 14 years, John Prince County Park Campground. You are allowed to camp for 5 months, or two week sites. You call them on the phone 90 days before your arrival date. We come here in October because it's easier to get a site then, starting the end of Nov, you won't get one. We leave March 1. Over 300 sites, all full hook up and you better bring your French/English Dictionary because 60% of the people here are from Quebec! And you will find that at most of the Snowbird campgrounds in FL. The Keys campgrounds cost an arm & leg. So bring TONS of money.
