Glen Ellis, NH

Camping at Glen Ellis up in NH in a few weeks. Wondering if anyone is familiar with the area. I hate buying firewood at the campground. 7 bucks a bundle for like 5 small pieces of wood. But I also want to respect the environment and not bring in out of state wood. Anyone know of places in the area that sell in larger quantities?

If you're heading up Rt. 16 to get there, we saw 3 or 4 places on the roadside to buy firewood between Tamworth and North Conway. IIRC a "campground size" bundle was $4.00.

We didn't travel on Rt. 302 this visit so I'm not sure what's available between Twin Mountain and Glen.

We were in North Conway last year, Glen Ellis Family Campground and brought in our own firewood. I feel the same about buying small bundles of wood at campgrounds for $5-$6 twelve inches long and lasts 45 minutes. If I run low on what I bring, I always look to roadside stands where it seems you get a lot more and better wood for the money. Enjoy the area, it is beautiful and we can't wait to return.
