Smile Great Trip To TopSail Hill State Park

We just returned from a great week long trip to TopSail Hill State Park in Santa Rosa Beach, Fl. I could not have asked for a more uneventful trip. The tow down from TN and back was "smooth" sailing. I say that in jest because if anyone has ever driven I-59 in NE Alabama there is nothing smooth about it. There is a good distance that will beat you to death. I think the only thing that it knocked loose was the probe on the temperature slide in the refrigerator. It took me a day to determine it belonged back in the clip and another day to get it to cool down.

As for TopSail, it was our second visit. The sites are good size, concrete, and fairly level. We enjoy the .7 mile bike ride or walk to the beach. I think it is the only place I ever stayed that routinely blows off there roads to keep them looking clean. I like that TopSail is 10 miles or so from Destin. There is now a new Walmart and Publix grocery close by. Overall, TopSail is one of the better places we have ever stayed.

I will second that. We have been there several times and it is one of the best we have ever stayed in. We are headed back soon.

Top Sail Hill originally was a private RV resort.
The state took over when the owners wanted to retire.
As a result it has landscaping and lights that normal state parks do not have.
It's one of the prettiest state parks in the US.

If you're headed to the Florida panhandle this is a great park to stay!
Bring your bikes!!

We love Top Sail State Park and stay there 3 to 4 times a year. Get your reservations early.

We just reserved 8 days at Top Sail for mid February.
I know the weather that time of year can be iffy but we're going to
chance it.
It's the only time my wife can get an entire week off this time of year.

If weather worse comes to worse they only charge a $17 cancellation fee
so we can get out if the forecast is really bad when it gets close.
I don't expect to cancel.

We're excited!! It is a great park!! If you go, take your bicycles!
