Hwy 231 from Montgomery to I10 FL

We are planning our 2nd snowbird trip down to FL and we're looking at taking a different route from last time. For one part of the trip we are looking to take HWY 231 out of Montgomery and then connect to I10 in the Florida panhandle. Has anyone taken this route? Pros/Cons? Appreciate any feedback.
Thanks.

We've done this road for the last three years. It is very nice, not crowded, except around Dothan and there is lots to see. It is four lane most of the way.

We take that route when we travel from St. Petersburg, FL. to Ralph, AL., US 19 to I10 to 231 to I65 to I59/20. Hwy 231 is a good road to travel, smooth & not a lot of traffic lights. We use to take I75 to I20/59 to get to Ralph, AL. but that was when we weren't pulling a camper. We prefer the 231 route now.
