I 81 camping

Traveling up I81 through VA in late July. Don't know where I want to stop. Will I have a problem finding a campsite if I don't have reservations ?

Don't know about reservations but endless caverns is easy on/off the highway and a nice campground.

Ft. Chiswell campground on the southern end of 81 was a very basic but nice overnight stay. Mostly all pull thru full hook up sites.

At the Ft. Chiswell/Max Meadows exit you will also find Pioneer Campground. Basic, pull-through, full hook-up. Very nice people. Family owned. We have stayed there several times traveling to/from our kids in the DC area to home in Kentucky.
Have also stayed at 2 different KOA campgrounds in the area. If you call ahead while on the road you should be able to find same day sites.
We usually know a few days in advance what our plans are and make reservations.
Travel safe
