Jellystone - Delaware

Looking for a good park in Delaware for summer trip with grandchildren. How does Jellystone in Lincoln, DE rate, any experiences? Thanks.

We stayed at the Delaware Jellystone, last June and it was very hot! Most of the campground is an open field with little to no shade. Sites were dirt/grass and my wife and I both got a very bad case of chiggers from sitting out at the campfire at night. We booked Massey's Landing this year, it is a brand new campground that is scheduled to be completed Memorial Day and looks to be amazing!

We just drove past there on Saturday. Looks like it is going to be a great place!

Just returned from the Jellystone trip with our grandaughter. The park was very clean and maintained. Staff was very accomodating, as we had family coming and going for no additional charge. They had many activities for the little ones, which she enjoyed. The park is quite large and will benefit in a few years, allowing the trees to grow a bit. Perimeter sites adjacent to larger trees and woods will provide some shade. Fire pits were cleaned daily and grass was mowed well. Restrooms and showers were very clean. Camp Store was well stocked.

It was a hot week and would have liked a bit of shade, but the a/c kept us cool at night. The ocean which is a short drive and the pool kept us cool during the day. My 2 cents...

We stay at Delaware Jellystone frequently in the non-summer months and love it. Many activities and usually fairly clean. The sites are non tree covered which can make it hot but we tend to enjoy the open spaces.

We stayed at Massey's Landing in early July. Their sites were clean but somewhat close together and a bit difficult to back into. They also have very few mature trees but I imagine that is something that goes along with a brand new facility. The one thing I did not enjoy was having a 3 day minimum...makes it difficult for a weekend getaway for those that work 5 days a week. However, most of the larger private campgrounds along the Delmarva Peninsula seem to be going in that direction which is quite frustrating.

I would recommend Trap Pond State Park. Nice wooded sites with water and electric hookups. Very nice pond and State Park.

Better have a reservation for Jellystone. They do not accept late arrivals. I think their closing was 5pm IIRC.

Camping at Lums right now, all sites full hook ups and only back in sites, even the dump station is a back in. Most sites at 40' a few at 50', word is that might change, also some sites are not level front to rear hope the address that. Busy of course on weekends but empty during the week so a drive up site is easy.
