We live near Disney but love the Tampa/Clearwater area. So much to do and so many beautiful beaches.
We tried a couple of nights at Lazy Days this summer and loved it. It's close to Busch Gardens and their water park (cant remember the name) and not too long a drive to the nice Gulf of Mexico beaches.
Negatives are that traffic to the beaches can be terrible, since you'll need to cross through Tampa on your way west. There also is a lot of road construction at the I-4 exit where they are located. As stated above, the sites are a little close and without a lot of shade but very well kept.
The pool was very nice and the grandkids had a blast. They have food service right at the pool to grab a snack/drink and a neat little free trolley to take to the main store/sales area.
Overall we found it to be a great spot to use as an anchor to explore the area. Not as a destination. You will need a toad for touring, or be camping in a trailer or 5er as daily driving of an RV of any size would be a real chore.

We agree, the RV show mentioned above is incredible. We went for the first time this year. Wow! We even scored a brand new ProSine 2000 pure sine wave inverter for $75.00 at the show.
