Looking for Campground recommendations

We are thinking about going to the Smokies in early June and looking for campground recommendations around Townsend. We have a 35 foot trailer.

We have been through Townsend but have never stayed there.

Thanks in advance,

Tim

I have not been there but I understand that Big Meadow Family Campground has just been named by the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC) as Small Park of the Year for 2019. There is also a FROG rally scheduled there from Sept. 8th thru the 15th

Little Arrow in Townsend. We've never stayed there, but have friends that swear by it. Were going in April.

Little arrow is pricey. SStay in cabin before sold and liked. They have done a ton of work on it. Don't stay at little river

We love Big Meadow in Townsend. Nice folks, very clean and not too fancy. Good level sites and full hookups. Nice dog park too. We like this park because it is easy to get to and quiet. Quick drive to Gatlinburg or Pigeon forge too.

I highly recommend Big Meadows. We have stayed thre many times over the years. Very nice facilities and close to the major attractions in Townsend. Cultural Center is awesome and Cades Cove is a must see. Get to Cades Cove early morning for the best in wild life viewing. It was at one time a Mom/Pop owned and operated with the son working there. I have heard the son operates it now.

It is not in Townsend, but we stayed at an excellent camp ground outside of Pigeon Forge. I would highly recommend it. We stayed at a creek site and it was very relaxing. The name of the place is Up The Creek RV Camp.

We were happy with this KOA. Sites by the river are really nice, but some are small.

Stayed at Lazy daze there last spring.

Campground was fair. Mostly year round folks.

Next time we will be in the KOA there. Very nice. More expensive. Sites of all sizes!

Thank you all for the suggestions. We booked a spot at Little Arrow.

I will try to follow up with a quick review when we get there. I also plan to visit some of the other ones to see how they are too.

Thanks again!
