looking for overnight stay

I will be traveling south on Rt 77 from Ohio to Tallassee next month. Can anyone recommend a campground between Charlotte NC and Columbia, SC for an overnight stop.

We stopped over night in NC. Statesville KOA about 30 minutes north of Charlotte. The seem to cater to overnighters. We had a pull through, was big and even never unhitched the truck. Was easy to get in and out with the 5er.

Lake Wateree State park is very nice, $21/night, about 10 miles east of I-77 and 30 miles north of Columbia. Asphalt pads level, clean rest rooms, dumping station, store.

The Fort Mill KOA is just over the border in SC and very close to 77. There is a Publix grocery store next door (within walking distance) and nice QT gas station nearby.
Disclaimer: this place made the recent list of "Worst places you've ever camped" and I would not make this a destination campground. But to stop for one night as you are passing thru, it is fine. We live in the area and when we bought our camper last summer, we used this campground for our shakedown trip.

Put the app RVPARKY into your cell phone and you will never be without a place to stay, you can also look it up on your computer.
