Maiden voyage in our motorhome

We made our first official trip in our new to us motorhome. We did close to 600 mile round trip to Sevierville TN, where we stayed at Two Rivers resort. We were impressed with the performance in the hills across I 40. Haven't figured the mileage yet, but it wasn't as bad as we expected. We were pleasantly surprised that gas was 20 cents cheaper than everywhere else at Buc-ees at Rockwood TN. "Bosco" did a great job, handled and rode pretty good for a box on wheels. Lol

Great story. Glad you enjoyed it. It’s a great area for the RV and sightseeing.

We’ll be nearby on the other side of the Blue Ridge in June, but sadly it’s a mega road trip there and back in 5 days in the car not the RV.

I don’t think that these gas Class A rigs are as bad on the road as everyone says. Maybe that’s because I have driven a school bus a few times or because I spent a pretty good part of my life driving decrepit old trucks that were pieced together with bailing wire and duct tape when I was young.
I enjoy driving mine…
OP, your fuel mileage is likely around 6 MPG.

Our present Class C drives much better than our Georgetown did, and that’s based on the fact that “no modifications” were done to either unit. However, I agree with your statement on how your gas Class A drives. I too, drove school buses for 12 years, and anything else drives better than a school bus. You know that Dan.

Besides…..any gas Class A is shaped like a brick. What did you expect people?

The best I can figure is we got 8.1 mpg. I wasn't Toad towing, or loaded very heavy. We were fighting pretty strong winds. It really doesn't matter to us, we bought it for smiles per gallon. It delivered. We're ready for road trip number 2!

We also didn't run into any problems at Buc-ees. We got gas, parked, shopped, and ate our lunch without getting any lip service like other members have reported. It sure is an impressive store. If you need something, they more than likely have it.

No, but lots of others were. There was tons of RVs there, all classes and travel trailers. I bet there was 30 class A motorhomes there. We parked in a section all together.
