Mid-Bay Bridge Destin

We are headed to Camp Gulf for Thanksgiving. "Shortest" route from north Alabama has us going over the mid-bay bridge on 293. Any one with experience have details on clearance? We have a class A, roughly 12' 6" tall. 8' 5" wide. I'd expect if semis go over it, it will be big enough but I still want to check.

Thanks
Sleepy Badger

According to google maps/street view...it is not a covered bridge of any sort so no height issues. I did see semi's on it. The only down side I can see specifically about the bridge is there is a toll.

Yeah, I was mostly looking for details about the toll both. Wasn't able to find anything on their website.

If you have Google earth, you can do a street view to read signs or things to look for for turning or entrances etc. I use it all the time for travel planning.

Per the Mid Bay Bridge Website FAQ (took me a while to find it), all lanes at the toll booth have 17 ft clearance.

I have been over it several times we usually go to Frank Gannon park for Thankgiving. You will have no problem.

Just be prepared to get additional bill in the mail for the toll on your camper.

I’ll keep the receipt since I’ll be going through the manual lane. Heard about them double billing.

You will still have to pay it. The way I understand it, the booth is for the bridge and the one in the mail is for the road to get to the bridge.
