Moose Hillock Lake George NY

Hello All

We are thinking about planning a July 4th week trip to Moose Hillock in 2018. The park looks great for the kiddies and Ive been looking for a reason to go back to the Lake George, N.Y. area. I have no problem with the distance or drive time from Delaware but what concerns me is the possibility of large hills along the way. I have a 2017 Roo 183 and tow with 2008 V6 Toyota Tacoma. Does anyone that has been through that area have an info that might help me out. I figure to be taking I-87 N up to NY-149.
Thanks, Luc

Your choice of Moose Hillock is great . We have stayed there a few times in the past two years and will be there four times this year . As far as what to do , there is a great bike path the lake itself and plenty of shopping for your wife .

I live a about 45 minutes south of Lake George. I see no problems at all for coming up I-87 and NY 149. There really are no mountains to deal with until you continue north of your destination.

I had a Tacoma TRD 4dr when we first bought our Roo 23SS. I had to upgrade because we were way over on payload and it really didn't have enough power for my liking. Your Roo is lighter than the 23SS so you'll be bettter off than I was wrt payload but since you expressed concern about the grades you know it will be a slow go up the steeper grades. I used to go to Lake George for the Americade rally and I can tell you that the grades in the area will challenge your Tacoma towing the Roo with a family on board.

Moose Hillock looks nice for families and I'd love to get back to the area. It's very scenic and has fantastic roads for motorcycling.

Moose Hillock has the best sites I ever seen. Semi private to private.
We traveled from NJ and don't remember many major hills getting to the campground.
If coming from 87 the right hand turn into the CG is on a slope . Make sure your cabinets are secure if you make this turn to quick.
