Just returned from Ocean Lakes for 8 days. Concrete pads are awesome there. Pricey but worth it if you enjoy and pool and water park there. Reservations are a must! We awoke every day with our biggest desicion to be ocean ( always a short walk ) or pool ? Message me with any questions on the park. Good Luck !

The famiy just got back last monday from Pirateland, Had a get time, good place to stay. We stayed in Ocean Lakes back in March and We're going back there in Oct. Each place has their pros and cons. Where most of Ocean lakes sites are conceret and pull thru, Pirateland the sites are grass/dirt , but I will say they are level. There is a cover over the outside table, most of the bayh houses are dated ( but Ive seen worse ) I would stay at either one..

We stayed at Lakewood Campground a week in July, and loved it. A nice grill, food booths on the ocean side, ice cream parlors (2), nightly concerts, family pool, kiddie pool, three slides, lazy river, coffee shop, fairly nice store, although over half souvenirs, directly across highway from Wal Mart Marketplace. I could go on. From the thread, it seems that you cannot lose at any of the parks. Pick one, enjoy your trip. We are returning to Lakewood the same week next year.

Stay at Huntington Beach. Beautiful spot on the ocean. Don't stay at the Myrtle Beach KOA. I was parked next to a rubbish tip with broken down trailers although there were plenty of other sites available. They then charged twice the going rate for KOA cancellations when I cancelled a later reservation a month later.

We stay often at Ocean Lakes and like it very much. Have not stayed at any of the others, but we hear good things about Lakewood and Pirate Land.

We strongly recommend reservations. At Ocean Lakes, with a paid reservation, they mail you a hang tag for your mirror. Then you don't need to check in...just wave at the gate keeper as you drive in and go straight to your site.

Happy camping!
