New Jersey campground recommendations

Hello, we are looking to take a trip to south Jersey at the end of April. Anyone have any recommendations for a nice campground?
Thanks

Which area of South Jersey? Might get better replies knowing where. Cape May area we liked Seashore Campsites.

If the new 11% tax applys to camp grounds like rentals, that may change your mind!
You could stay in Deleware and ride the ferry to Cape May. Walk on/off. I have friends that do this.

Don’t really have a certain area, probably close to Cape May and wildwood

Have stayed at Depot Travel Park within Cape May. Not kid friendly but close to downtown shops and restaurants.

We’ve stayed a bunch at Sea Pines just inland from Avalon, NJ. Depending on how long you go for, it might be worth buying a Thousand Trails membership and staying using that.

The only downside is that you’ll likely not get a site with sewer. However, there are pumpouts and they have a sewer tote that they lend out.

Easy access to Avalon and Stone Harbor.

Thanks but that won’t work.

This may have changed with the upgrades they are doing.

Every time I see somebody write this, I add that place to my 'want to visit' list, lol.

Hopefully they upgrade the electricity, at least! On the row I was on, I had one of my 50amp legs showing 106 volts. My EMS repeatedly shut me down.

I’d really be surprised if they add more sewer sites. Would be great if they do, though!

I have heard the contractor they hired for Sea Pines seems to be doing more bad then good, destroyed some seasonal sites and placing electric boxes to far from the sites. Contractor was hired by corporate not the local management.

They have Preseason specials. We have been seasonals there for 30 years.

KOA

There is a new KOA we like on RT 9. It used to be Lake Laurie. April usually is off season pricing at most places down there. We like Seashore, Holly Shores and Acorn.

I would recommend Big Timber Lake RV Park just off Route 9 near Cape May Courthouse. Very close to Avalon and Stone Harbor. We've stayed there several times, and the staff and management are very willing to please all visitors.

I grew up in South Jersey and was a lifeguard in Stone Harbor for nearly ten years in the 1960's - '70's. In April, the ocean water temperatures will still be really cold, but the days should be mild and enjoyable. If the Gulf Stream is running close to shore, the fishing could be superb for stripers or early season blue fish.

More Depot

I am a displaced local raised in North Cape May. Every time we go back to Cape May we like to stay at the Depot. It is convenient to everything Cape May and is a very well managed/maintained campground. They enforce the rules which is actually kind of refreshing

We stay at Acorn campground. It’s a real nice family campground on rt47 just outside of Wildwood. From the campground it takes only 10 minutes to get to the beach.

Our favorite is Big Timber RV Park just off Route 9 between the exits to Avalon and Stone Harbor. Lots of big sites with full hookups, very family friendly, and helpful professional staff.
