Newbie to RVing.

Wife and I are ready to start travelling in our newly purchased RV. Because of her health issues it is sometimes difficult to plan far in advance.

How difficult is it to find places parks/campground on short notice during Spring, Summer, and early Fall in Eastern and Midwest USA? Is it a gamble to start out without reservations?

I really don't make them in advance, on the east coast. If your going to a popular place like Branson, or Disney yes, but not just everyday places. I have never had a problem and I have been doing it along time. I have found most CG have at least 5 transit sites f rist come f rist serve. Where do you want to go?

Tough to answer. If you go near tourist spots camp sites may be hard to find. Same with holiday weekends. Are you looking for full hookups? KOA type campgrounds?
If you go a little off the beaten path you should be able to find camp sites. Get the KOA and Good Sam apps on your smart phone and go!

That's what I do, just call a couple hrs ahead , never had a problem except main attraction places, but I tend to stay away from them.
