No Slide Out Campground?

Hilton Head Harbour RV Resort.

Saw a write up on this campground. Looked very nice. War Department enjoys beach area camping.

So we check the web page and......!
No slideouts on travel trailers or 5th wheel allowed. Beginning September 1. ??? What???

Called and spoke to a lady that has no idea why. Except for a POA restriction. Have no idea what that refers to. Not an HOA?

I can't imagine business not going down hill.

Any body ever here of a CG doing this??

POA normally stands for Power Of Attorney.

BTW: Thanks for your service. What did you do in the Army?

Property Owner's Association.

Don't know why they're doing that, unless it's meant to weed out everyone except an Airstream or something. who knows.

First, thank you for your service .
In all my years of camping I've never heard of a RV Resort banning units with slide outs. Judging from the prices on their website they cater to a specific clientele and with majority of campers having them I'm sure it will be detrimental to their business.

We stayed there a few years back. All the lots are privately owned. When we were there there was all types of permanent RVs and plenty would not meet this requirement. Must be a new requirement for transients. I guess they only want Airstream type transient. Will definitely hurt the folks who want to rent their site while away.

I guess I can wick wick them off my future list..lol.

Thanks, I knew that just not how it may applied here. And I guess it doesn't.

I will accept your "Thanks for your Service" on behalf of all that have served before and are serving now. I appreciate it!

I help a Signal Corps MOS. But did not work in it but half the time. You know "needs of the Army"

POA yep that makes sense. Never saw that one before.

I think they may have shot themselves in the foot.

Prost! I only got one year in the land of bier!

"1,300 breweries in Germany.
In total, there are approximately 1,300 breweries in Germany producing over 5,000 brands of beer. The highest density of breweries in the world is found in Aufseß near the city of Bamberg, in the Franconia region of Bavaria with four breweries and only 1,352 citizens.

How many did you "taste test"

Thank You for your Service!

Can't remember how many I tasted...LOL
But I do remember attending the 1200th year fest in Eschwege just north of Fulda. Actually I don't remember much of that fest, it lasted a week! The brewery was AKE (Andreas Klostrabaru Eschwege).

Sorry all, I don't mean to hijack this thread.

Looks like they only want Airstreams and motorhomes. The motorhomes are not included in the ban on slideouts.

Any CG that charges $79 to $129 a night can do whatever they want!
But I can guarantee they will do it with me!

Another term for HOA (Homeowners Association). I don't know why one is used as opposed to another, but they're both bad. This is the strangest policy I think I have ever seen! My only thought is so they can squeeze more units in there.

"We accept bumper pull travel trailers, 5th wheel travel trailers, hybrid campers and motor coaches. We cannot accept park models, destination trailers or tents.

As of September 1st, 2020 we no longer will be accepting bumper pull travel trailers with slide outs and 5th wheel travel trailers with slide outs, as well all types of Travel Trailers longer than 35 feet or wider than 8 feet in their fully installed condition (which 8 feet includes tipouts and slideouts)."

Hey guys. POA is property owners association. Hilton Head just opened a new CG that only takes Class A units. Maybe they are trying to keep up with the new guys.

Wow. I've stayed there in the past and enjoyed the time there. Seemed like ample room for a slideout there in all sites.

This makes no sense to me as most RV's have slide-outs

They won't be in business long if they don't change that rule

So.. I called them. It's legit. The homeowners association made the change a few weeks ago and they're complying as of the 1st.

Looks like we won't be staying there again.

She did mention that it might change based on feedback. However no bumper pull of 5th wheels with slides. Only Classes A, B, And C or trailers without slides (She mentioned Airstreams).

Seems crazy to me that you'd allow an A,B, or C with slides and not a TT.
