Not much help here, but Maine is a gorgeous state. I was there a couple of years ago for work.
Enjoy

Check my posts I've been going on and on about Acadia, love the area. Just got back 2 weeks ago. We've been going there for last 25 years at least once/twice a year. This is the first time in 30 years we camped there

Don't miss a visit to Portland Maine on the way to Bar Harbor! Great old old water front with every restaurant and cuisine imaginable. Cobblestone streets with shops and taverns full of entertainment. There is a very good campground with in a few miles of Portland, I forget the name, but if you go to campgroundreviews.com you'll easily find it. Bar Harbor and Acadia is must, especially catching a sunrise from the top of Cadillac Mountain. Another great part of Maine more serene and peaceful is Moosehead Lake in northern ME. Moose population to humans is 3 to 1 though my wife and I did not see any when we were there. Have a great trip, I'm ready for a return visit myself!

X3 Sherman on Portland. Small compact city with lots to see and do.Waterfront day or nite is awesome.Portland Head Light.Take the calendar island cruise and ride the bike path around Back cove. If your rig isnt too big take 295 to Rt1 up the coast two lanes after Bath to Acadia. Mt Battie north of Camden is a good stop over SP some sites have water and electric. Came back from Acadia this way and had no problem just a nice scenic ride-beats turnpike and tolls

I would have reservations before I went. The RV parks stay pretty full in NE in the summer. Have a great time.

Do you have kids? We leave next week for ten days at Pappoose Pond campground in Waterford Maine. Do this every year with my family and I went there as a kid. Great spot to bring kids. Lakes region very close to NH White Mountains.
