Open for Easter 2019?

Ive tried google with not a great amount of success - but here goes. I'm looking for a campground that might be open by April 18 2019. I'm good with places in NY, PA or Ohio, and willing to go 8 hours from the Buffalo area. a quick look at the map seems to indicate on the far end of 8 hours, i can get almost as far south west as Lexington KY, south as far as Fayetteville WV, and south east as far as New Haven CT - but really they are on the outside of where id want to travel for the 4 day weekend.

we have no particular destination in mind - essentially just somewhere to get the rig de-winterized and kick off the season, and hoefully avoid any snow - although we do get some at easter here in Niagara. I'm striking out finding much open, so maybe it's too early - but hopefully someone has a recommendation.

Most state parks are open then, some have winter camping. I know around here in Erie Sparrow Pond and Presque Isle Passage are open. I would go to Presque Isle before Sparrow pond. Nicer owners and closer to Presque Isle State Park.

I would think that all CG will be open by then, I know that here in Virginia all State and COE CG, open April 1st. Easter is late this year, 3rd weekend in April, so really you going to have your choice.

How about down around the Hershey and Lancaster Pa. area most if not all campgrounds will be open by then.

Also the Williamsburg Va. area, we have spent many a Easter break there.

Ontario Parks

Maybe we will see you at Rondeau On Lake Erie or Pinery on Lake Huron. Both open. As well Valens Conservation Area is open near Cambridge. Green Acre Waterloo and Milton Heights for private parks.

Great suggestions. Thanks everyone.

I know up my way parks don’t open until May 15 typically so that’s why I was thinking to head a few hours south. I’ll report back where we end up booking!

If you ever get a chance go to Mohican State Park in Ohio and also Hocking Hills area in Ohio. Hocking has amazing caves and trails to walk. Just beautiful in these two areas.

We will have left FL and probably Ga by then to put the 5er to bed until fall. The best time to use these things is when y'all don't.

so im very close to booking into Mohican Adventures in Ohio. I did want to get to Hocking Hills, so this might be a good time to get to that area since they open April 1.
