Our first season recap.

We've ended our first season with the new TT and are just starting on preparing for winterization. We made 10 trips in total, most within NY at different state and county campgrounds, but our last trip was to Pohick Bay campground in Lorton, VA (on the Potomac River) with stops in PA on the way there and back. Driving around Washington DC traffic takes on a new perspective when you're hauling a camper. Pohick Bay is a very nice smaller campground, and has a lot to offer families. We were there off-season and it was very quiet and peaceful. My daughter lives 10 miles away in the Alexandria/Mt. Vernon area so it was a convenient place while we visited. On the way down we stayed at Raymond B. Winter SP in Mifflinburg, PA. Another very nice and small campground that reminded me of the Oregon forest (maybe thanks to the rain). The sites are maybe a little close in some areas, but again, in the off-season it was wonderful. The picture is from RB Winter SP.

Holy cow, all the things we learned about trailering, packing a camper, setting up camp, campground lifestyles, etc. in the past 6 months! Does a cold adult beverage ever taste as good as it does after you complete setting up your campsite? It was great, great fun! We can't wait for next year and our second season.

Take the high road. It's usually less muddy.

That is a super post, and that is what RVing and camping are all about! As you grow more into the lifestyle you will find yourselves expanding your horizons and stretching your imaginations of where to go, and what to see, and squeezing in as much adventure as your leisure time permits.

Been RV'ing with my own RV for 11 years now, 40+ counting all the RV time with the family. First thing I do when done setting up is open an adult beverage, and you are right, that first one tastes so great when you are camping!
