Pine Mtn is our favorite park in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area. We have stayed there 8-10 times and have enjoyed it EVERY time, even when it snowed.
There are lots of campgrounds, RV parks, resorts, etc. that are in the area, but PM is right in the middle of things, so you don't have to drive 30-40 minutes to get anywhere. Anchor Down is VERY nice, but it is about 45 minutes from Pigeon Forge, 55-60 minutes from Gatlinburg and then you must deal with traffic.
Riverside is also very nice, but it, too is on the other side of Sevierville, so you again, have to drive through all the traffic to get into Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.
Elkmont campground is wonderful, but I no longer want to dry camp, so that leaves it out. We do go up there and enjoy the GSMNP, but I prefer to sleep in an air conditioned RV with water and power.
Traffic in and around PF and Gatlinburg can be AWFUL! There have been times that we have sat in traffic for over 2 hrs, trying to go 5 miles. Weekends are the worst offenders.
PM me and I will give you some alternate directions to get into Pine Mountain without having to travel the main thoroughfare.

I have stayed in site 11,12,13. They stay full on the Creek side. It close to the trolley stop. It's within walking distance of Log Cabin Pancake House. DW and me like the crepes they serve, peach, cherry, blackberry, blueberry

Thanks for the info we will see how it works out. Apparently there is a large hotel just across the creek we didn't find out about that till after booking not sure how we will like that. Worst we will have to do is move. Thanks for the information.

The hotel isn't across the creek. It's across the road and there are only 2-3 sites that front that little road. If you are on the creek, you are NOT on the road sites (40 or 41).
If you look at the campground map, the hotel is across Pine Mountain Road directly across the street from the registration area.

Will do first really long trip for us so just want to make sure as much as possible. You hear horror stories on refunds when things don't work out. Thanks for all the information that's why we belong to this blog. If anyone else has info on the former Twin Mountain RV park now called Camp Rivers Landing it would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Thanks to all for the info. we are looking to spend 4 or 5 days in August and I think we have narrowed down to Pine Mountain or Camp Rivers Landing. We like the river side spaces and assume our 37' toy hauler will fit but have some small concerns on levelig, etc. for those of you who have stayed there in the past can you access and walk along the river if you have an interior campsite?

If you are talking about Camp River Landing then yes you can walk along the creek and feed the ducks and fish if you have a license. I had really rather stay in the interior because in the two middle rows you aren't backing in on your blind side

Pine Mountain
Don't know if you're still looking for information on Pine Mountain but we have stayed there several of times. Most recently during the fires in early December. It's a great camp ground and the location is about as good as it gets.
