Plum Island, MA CG

Hello,

Gotta love the extended family when they drop that they are going to a relatives house in Plum Island, MA and maybe we should join them. Not enough room in the house and not into hotels since I have a nice TT. Of course, they knew in the fall they were going back in August....so just tell me now? Ok sorry for the rant.

So has anyone camped in that area and can make recommendations? This will be for either the first or second week in August.

Thank you and I apologize for the rant but I like to plan way in advance.

Why don't you just camp in their driveway or side yard? Or if you want a nice small rv park nearby, try beachrose in salisbury. Very small, (40) site. Ut real nice and close to the beach

Displaced, on your trip up north, here are a few places that we have stayed at.

When you get to Connecticut, stop at Mohegan Sun Casino. They have a huge RV lot and a free shuttle every 15 minutes to and from the front door to your RV.
Massachusetts: Normandy Farms is a great campground but usually full. Located West of Boston and Very close to Patriots Place and Gillette Stadium.
Near Newburyport, you will be happy with Beach Rose. There are a bunch of CG's nearby, but not as nice. Beach Rose has 50 sites, All RV sites. The owner cooks a big lobster dinner (for a fee) but worth it on either friday or saturday. You will be close to the beaches.

When you get to Maine, there are plenty of campgrounds in Wells and Old Orchard Beach. We stay ay Bayleys in OOB every year. If you go further North, I can't give you any suggestions

Plum Island

Salisbury Beach State Park is directly across the Merimack River from Plum Island. The campground has water and electric. There is a tanker that will come to your site to empty your tanks for a fee. There is also a dumping station available. The sites are tight together but we enjoy the set up. Nice clean ocean beach and also the Merimack river for some great fishing.

Pat's Diner for nostalgia
Nancy's Cafe for muffins
