Pokegon State Park, Indiana !

Hi,

I am planning to visit Pokegon state park in Indiana during Easter, for 9 days. I have vacation days I have to take, so why not there

Anything I should be aware of ? Is it a good camp ground ? Should I avoid it at all costs ? Did anyone stay there, any pictures maybe ?

go through reserve America. they have pictures. I really like the park. it does have some nasty sites but there are great one too. if you reserve online then get to site and do not like site go back to office they usually work with you. it is only electric hook ups

They do not have reservations open yet, I even called the park and spoke to them. It is an open around the year CG, so I assume in low demand season it is first come first served. I will surely try to land a good site once I am there.

Do you know of any good site numbers so I can ask for them when I am there ?

I was very leery of driving 9 hours and not finding a spot but they assured me that they only get around 10 or 15 campers around easter. Fingers crossed

I have some very fond memorie of pokegon sp. Stayed there about 45 years ago with my grand parents. My grand parent went up there quite abit back in the 50s and 60s.

wow, that brings back memories for me too! I remember dad taking mom and us kids up there several times for a weekend of camping in the old Apache pop up. That was probably 50 years ago though..maybe I need to pay another visit?
