Quick - Last minute Myrtle Beach Reco
We're thinking about making a last minute run to Myrtle Beach, but I haven't ever been camping there or done any research on the area. We have a small 5th wheel, prefer full hookups, don't have kids. Our priorities would probably be more like a tourist (SEAFOOD) than a camper for the week. Any recommendations?

check myrtle beach state park, they have some full hookups and are much cheaper than lakewood, pirateland, or ocean lakes. There was just a camper fire at apache which is on the north side of myrtle beach 2 died and 4 trailers damaged. Might want to avoid that one until they get that all cleaned up.

Myrtle Beach Camping
Briarcliffe RV Resort. Was their last week. Love the place. Right next to Barefoot Landing. All campsites are paved and have full hookups.

I have been to Ocean Lakes the last two years. It is very nice and easy to get too. I usually go there in March, the prices are half the summer rates and it is a good place to DE winterize your camper,

Private resort but open to the public, off the beach but, still close enough to everything Myrtle Beach/North Myrtle Beach. They also honor Coast to Coast & Good Sam discount.
If you want to be ON the beach then, Apache, Pirateland, Lakewood, Myrtle Beach Travel Park, Huntington State Park, Myrtle Beach State Park, Ocean Lakes are the places to be.......if you can get in.

Myrtle Beach State Park is my fav. Lakewood would be next. Both are near Murrells Inlet where there is plenty of seafood. Creek Ratz and Russells are two of our favorites. There is also a place in Garden City right on the beach called The Conch Cafe. I highly recommend.

Just stayed at Ocean Lakes last month. Really nice place, very clean, great pool, lots of activities and THE OCEAN. I highly recommend it.

If thinking of staying at Ocean Lakes after May the 26 and haven't made reservations yet you can pretty much forget that park. I like to stay there it's close to Crabby Mike's. all you can eat seafood buffet

I live just 45 minutes away and would try Myrtle Beach Travel Park, Ocean Lakes, Lakewood. If you would like a nice wooded site 20 minutes from the noise, neon, and traffic try Brunswick Beaches in Sunset Beach NC.

Thanks for all the replies, everyone. For the sake of time, and very little availability, we took one of the 4 sites left at Ocean Lakes. Plus, it was almost half the price of Lakewood. We will definitely spend some time visiting the other parks. Usually, we prefer something 30-60 minutes away from the touristy hustle bustle. We'll be there Sunday-Friday.

The family and I are going to Ocean Lakes this summer. It will be the longest distance we've traveled. We went from a popup with no AC to a hybrid this winter. No way we'd do a MB trip in a popup without AC. We're really looking forward to going.

Ocean Lakes
We like Ocean Lakes and go there often. In fact, we bought a second TT last year to keep in storage there. However, they stay almost booked up this time of year and it's hard to find a spot. We've never stayed at Lakewood, but hear good things about it. Ditto Pirateland.
