What part of central NY are you leaving from? Could you easily get to I81 south to I77 to I26 to I95?

That is my planned route to Fla. My question refers to 95 Jacksonville to Lakeland. The route I mentioned is to avoid I4.

301s to Floridas Turnpike (toll) south of Ocala to the Ronald Reagan Turnpike. That will keep you west of downtown Miami.

We've used the Ronald Reagan from S. Miami to US 1 & the Keys ....smooth sailing.

We have friends in Sunshine Key......when you get there, let me know. I'll PM their names & site #.

Still looking for a route from Jacksonville Fl. to Lakeland Fl. that avoids I4. Would my route 10W to301S to75S to471S to 98S be a good alternative?
Any other ideas.

Yes. If you don't need to go near Jacksonville, you could take exit 373 off I95 in Yulee. That's Rt 200/A1A (4 lane) to 301s.
