We are originally from Bethlehem/Easton areas and still have relatives there so visit multiply times each year. There just isn't much in the line of CG's in the Lehigh Valley. There are some CG's south of Hellertown in the Quakertown area, none with high ratings and many south of the area do not have FHU sites (older CG's), something we want.
West of Allentown there is a CG off route 22/78
Pine Hill RV Park (Kutztown, PA). For us, Pine Hill would mean we'd have to travel Route 22 thru Allentown/Bethlehem daily to visit our family and friends and RT 22 is very busy and can be slow. For your needs to go to Hellertown from Pine Hill you could take RT 78 which may have less traffic and has a Hellertown exit (67) to RT412, the main street thru Hellertown (north - south).
Since we visit mostly Bethlehem, north of RT22, we use
Evergreen Lake Campground (Bath, PA) only because its the closest for our needs. Evergreen doesn't open for the season until April 16th. It is an older CG, wooded and mostly seasonal campers, mostly 30amp, some sites with sewer.
Just not many CG's around the Lehigh Valley area (Allentown, Bethlehem, Hellertown, Easton) at least that appeals to us. Because we usually stay for 2-3 weeks at a time when we visit the area, we want a FHU site.
Maybe others who currently live in the area will chime in and have other ideas.
