Scenic Route suggestions- MD to northern GA

My husband and I are planning our first 2 week venture from Maryland through the Carolinas in our 23 ft TT (Surveyor 20 MBLE). We want to take in the Blueridge and Smokey Mtns in mid May and any interesting spots along the way.We love to hike, bike, (rail trails mostly) fish and kayak. Any suggestions on routes, sites or campgrounds would be most welcome.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Linville Falls on the BRP is beautiful! Some great hiking trails and there is also a NPS campground if you are interested.

Also Linville Caverns is not far off the BlueRidge

Closer to Ashville on the BRP, Mt. Mitchell has some extraordinary views!

Absolutely beautiful area out there with so much to see!

Scenic Route

Not far from Linvile Falls is Grandfather Mountain with its mile high suspended bridge, hiking, and wild animal refuge. Further south is Pisgah National Forest. Throughout the NC mountain ranges are quite a few water falls, some with great hiking to enjoy. I can recommend a number of great campsites if you like. There are more than a few internet sites providing detailed info on all the subject matter I mentioned above.

Also, there are a number of quaint little towns along the way that have evolved to arts enclaves. I only live 30 minutes from the mountains and we visit there often. Good luck.
