taking I75/I40/26 to Myrtle Beach/Murrells Inlet
Leaving Saturday, 7/28th for Murrells Inlet near Myrtle Beach. I usually take I75 to I40 to 26 but I hear there may still be traffic issues on I75 due to road work to fix the landslide in Tenn. Has anyone been through that area recently and what kind of delay can I expect? I'm coming from Cincy and if the delay is more than an hour I may try to find another route. Also, are there any traffic issues on I40 or 26 to watch out for?
Appreciate any info & advice. Thanks in advance!

I took I-40 in the spring of 2010, and it was 1 lane then, but hopefully would have that mess cleaned up by now. I think it was just the west bound lanes that were affected, if I remember correctly.
We were in Murrell's inlet in February and March......loved it !!!

Can not help you on the roads but used to live in that area. If you are looking for good places to eat check out Flo's and Nance's both really good!!

We bicycled from Huntingbeach State Park to Creek Ratz.......that was great, at least for lunch. The beer was cold and sandwiches tasty and filling.

Stay on 40, get off on hwy 321 (south) in Hickory, NC (exit 123a), In Gastonia get on 85 north to I485 (stay right on exit ramp like you're going to Pineville) in Charlotte, exit 51 is hwy 74, get on 601 in Monroe, take 601 to Darlington, get on 501, 501 to Conway then get on 544. You end up on hwy 17, about 5 miles north of Murrells Inlet.

Beachy,
Stayed at Huntington Beach State Park. It was a rough start, When we went to check-in the ranger said we could not have our site because the electric was bad and had to be replaced. He had already started processing the refund and told me they had no other sites available for the length of the stay. I have to admit I got a little wound up and told them they needed to help me find something. I was more upset, not angry, that I was 12 hours away from home with no place to camp/vacation. After spending some time with the staff, they strung together some available sites but I would have to move 4 times during the course of the week. 48 hours later, the day of the first move, it looked like the site was repaired. I asked and was able to move into the original site. Had a great time despite a little stress with the site.
The beach was as nice as I remembered. Ate out every night and the seafood was great!
