Trip to Florida

I will be traveling to Florida from Chicago going through tenn. what type of hills or mountain if any should I be concerned about. I have a 2004 3500 Chey diesel pulling a 39 ft cedar creek fifth wheel .

You might get more input if you specified a potential route or east/west coast of Florida.

West coast i assume you will be on I-65 S. IMO there's no serious mountain issues, but I detest I-65 through Alabama. It's mostly 2 lanes in each direction and it's not unusual to get passed by folks traveling at very high speed with a lot of stop and go.

If you're going more east like Orlando you'll most likely pickup I-24 in Nashville and I-75 in Chattanooga. I'm not familiar with that part of I-24. I-75 again, no crazy mountains. A lot of it is 3 lanes and a better route than I-65 IMO. Atlanta can be bad at times, but our last two trips we had no issues.

Do the trip several times a year towing my 42' 5th wheel. Only serious grades are just before Chattanooga, Mt. Eagle. Think it's around MM 130 or so. Not mountain, but 6% grade or so. Anything else thru Ky and Tn are just hills. Best route is 65S to 24E to 75. Nashville can be a bit crowded during rush hour, but the killer is Atlanta. Get there before 3pm or after 8. Weekends are the best. Don't know where you're going, but it's around 20 hours of driving time to West Palm, where we stay, Safe travels.
