What are your favorite North East Rail Trails

Dw and I regularly ride the trails around us in Central Mass.,Rhode Island, New Hampshire,Vermont and Maine(the Carriage roads in Acadia are terrific) and are looking for more in the North East. We went to the Poughkeepsie Rail trail last year and the bridge over the Hudson was spectacular. So what are your favorites? We will be at ChenagoSP in New York the end of July. Any recommendations in the area?

Maybe not really Northeast, but the Greenbriar River Rail Trail in West Virginia is a nice one. Runs along the Greenbriar River and no roads close by. Very quiet and scenic.

Thanks looks to be a 2-day trip for us. Rarely drive over 6 hrs a day we like to visit where ever we are. See some nice looking CGs in the area do you have any recommendations? We have no problem dry camping. 78 miles wow

Can't go wrong with these two.

Pine creek rail trail along the Grand Canyon of PA. There is an outfitter in Wellsboro that can move your vehicle if you need it. We have done this trail twice. Great ride.

Great Allegheny Passage from Pittsburgh to Cumberland MD. Awesome ride. We did a 3 day trip last year for the 150 miles.

You should become a member of the Rails to Trails Conservancy. A lot of good articles on trails.

Watoga State Park is on the river and the trail. It is electric hook up only. The campsites are mostly wooded. I would not go without reservations. Lewisburg/White Sulphur Springs WV is the largest town in the area, it is the home of the Greenbriar Resort.
