Which route in Florida? Coastal (95) or Central (75)?

I've got a couple of options for how I can get from Ragan's Family Campground to Jetty Park Campground tomorrow. My top consideration is the least busy route, fewest 18 wheelers, etc.

We could take 75 through the middle of FL, or we could go to Jacksonville and down on 95. Thoughts on which would be best?

We are towing a 21FBRS.

Appreciate any and all insight! Thanks!

if you don't mind tolls, I 75 would probably be the better route. Both are going to be busy.

Thanks! Don't mind tolls. We've got a transponder.

That route is a little shorter. We've been on the road all week, so we are ready to get there!

I think I75 will have less traffic, it goes through fewer cities as well.

I-75 to the FloridaTurnpike to 528 east (Beachlne) is the quickest. Tolls on turnpike and Beach line. Beach Line splits so stay to the right. It will take you right to the camp.

Enjoy the launch. I was born in Melbourne and have watched from my houses all my life. I’m envious….

I-75 prob best bet. lots of exits to stop, get fuel, food. quick break ect. I-95 has always been a pain in the ass.

I'd take Fl-100 out of Lake City. Good roads, less traffic.Click image for larger version

I'm a 95 guy. Turnpike is quicker but you can get jammed as exits are far apart and if there's an accident it gets backed up. I-10 to 95 is quick without too much traffic also. Just my experience.

ooh, I'm liking this. I just put it in RV Life, and the trip duration is pretty good.

Thanks for the suggestion. This seems to take the best of all things and avoid the cities.

I've got it loaded, and we are off. 👍

Good luck. We live south of Tallahassee, and whenever we tow to the St. Augustine area, we always take this route. Little traffic, good roads, low or no stress. No big trucks to deal with,. The crazy drivers that are in a rush are driving the interstate. Plus I like driving country rides.

100 was great! There’s a fabulous Racetrak in East Palatka for gas.

We had a bunch of rain all the way from Daytona to port Canaveral, so I ended up grannying it on Highway 1 and avoided 95 altogether. We are still dialing in our WDH, and I didn’t feel like dealing with the slippery freeway.

We are settled now at Jetty Park and unexpectedly caught the SpaceX launch tonight! It was spectacular! Artemis is scheduled to launch Monday. Lifetime memories being made!

Thanks for the suggestions! We are excited to enjoy a few weeks of fun here in FL.

If you chose the I-95 route take 295 to bypass downtown. The I-10 and I-95 junction isn't fun. I-295 will bypass that.

I thought for sure you had planned your stay for the launches? You are lucky if you didn’t as Jetty Park is hard to get into without early reservations.

Artemis is the biggest rocket ever launched from KSC. Bigger than the
Saturn IV.

If you are here long enough go to KSC visitor complex. But wait until after the launch as I’m sure there will be 100s of thousands of people showing up for the launch.

We’ll watch it from the backyard….

We thought there might be launches, but I booked early enough that it really wasn't certain what would be launching when. So we got lucky!

We will have moved up the road in Orlando by the 3rd enjoying some resort time. We'll drive over for the launch. Now that we know the area we can hopefully still get good parking and our sweet spot on the pier.

We were at KSC yesterday and had a great time! More KSC tomorrow. Having a blast here! (corny pun)

I drive this route 4 to 5 times a year a few times i went I 75 and even though it is shorter it takes longer (traffic) so 10 to 295 to 95 ie the best road and a lot less traffic we are at jetty park at least once a week my grand daughter
is in surfing contest there and coco My daughter in 1999 and 2000 was the women's champion for the state of Florida. enjoy your stay.

We were in Cape Canaveral for the launch last week. The friend we stayed with works at the space center. He left for work at 3:15am. A typical 20 minute drive. Took him 4 hours. We were about a mile from jetty park. How far are you coming? Traffic was backed up on 95 for hours literally. I would recommend leaving yourself loads of time. People were camped out on the side of every rd headed to the beach the night before. Titusville too. And that was a work day. Sat will be absolutly insain. The line to get into jetty was miles long and it opend at 5 am.
