Williamsburg Va. Anvil Campground

We stayed at Anvil this past weekend. In general, I was happy with the park and our site This is a smallish, family run park with full hookups but only a few pull throughs. Most of the back in spots are narrow but level gravel with picnic table & fire pits at the rear of the site rather than in between...not so great if you have awnings & exterior TV etc. at the side as neighbors slide-outs will be close by! Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Location is excellent for visiting Williamsburgh, Busch Gardens or Water Country attractions and all the local shopping.

There are train tracks adjacent to the site and probably 8 or more trains a day no more than 100 yards from any site....and closer to many. I got used to it quickly and it didn't bother me or my sleep but if you are a light sleeper...you could get a surprise at midnite! LOL.
Restrooms/showers are older but well maintained and clean. Wifi is quite good as is cable TV.
Best thing about the place is the bus stop is right in front and seniors can ride ALL day for $1...it brings you to old town Williamsburg or you can transfer to the history visitors center, or go to Busch Gardens or Walmart. No worries and no parking fees!
This park accepts Passport in the off season so it is a nice bargain then if you can schedule your travel plans to avoid the peak crowds.
We plan to return for a longer stay next year.
