2011 Ram 3500 Mud flap suggestions

A few weeks ago I acquired a new-to-me tow rig. It’s a 2011 Dodge Ram 3500 DRW Laramie with a 6.7l Cummins with only 53k/mi.
The truck is in excellent condition and I couldn’t be happier with it, with the only exception being that it came with an almost new set of BF Goodrich MT. Certainly these tires will give me the traction that I need in an off-road condition but I would never have been my tire of choice to tow my 5th wheel. But now that I do have them, I will have to deal with them until they wear out.
Anyway, I realize that fuel mileage is lost and noise is..... let’s just say that the radio sounds really good at a higher octave. So the concern that is left remaining is rock and mud slinging.
Which brings me to the reason for my post. I am in the market for an effective and reasonably nice looking set of mud flaps. If anyone has a drw and has a suggestion for a set of rear flaps, I would be appreciative of your suggestion and insight as to why you recommend them.

Thank you,
Tom

I don't have a DRW, but I still have rear tires like you. I have Rocktamers, but you have to be careful as they can deflect rocks back up and into the bumper/tailgate. That's why you see some people have them angled back a ways. I don't always use the rocktamers anymore. I also have Duraflap extra long mudflaps front and rear on my truck. Seems to protect anything I tow quite well. They also come extra wide if you want, and you can order them custom length.

I have Truck Hardware Gatorback mud flaps on mine, front and rear. Expensive, and a complete pain to put the rears on, but complete coverage. No mud on the paint, and no more chips on the hips.

I run the ultra guard full length flap. Protects the front of my fifth wheel.

I have had several kinds over the years. The best that I have ever had are called Rockstars. They are super strong and don't wobble. Very well made.

I have Duraflap mud flaps. They stop 95+% of the mud - all but the lowest slung mud - from hitting my trailer. I may invest in Rocktamers as well.

I recommend upgrading the mud flaps on your fenders first because they will catch the mud and rocks that get throw high.

Well I ended up ordering a set of mud flaps from Dodge. They are just a rubber mat but they are pre drilled and come with the needed hardware. Not the fanciest but I think that they will help tremendously in comparison to having nothing at all like I do now.
Thank you all for your suggestions and willingness to help. I will post a before and after pic after I get them installed.

Thanks again,
Tom

I gave up on the mudflaps on the market and made my own using 1/4 inch conveyor belt rubber sheeting. I screwed it to a 2 x 2 inch x 8 foot aluminum bar and hung it using eye bolts to the class 3 trailer hitch on the truck which is not used for the 5th wheel.

It's not installed during the winter and I don't have a picture of it. It works 100% better than the two store bought ones on the market.

I'm not subscribed to this thread so PM me if you have any questions.

They look good. How far are they off the ground? And are they wider than the tires?

They are about the same width as the tires and sit right at 9" off the ground.

Love my Duraflaps. I have had mine for over 3 years now and they still look like new. These are the long ones with the stainless weight. Click image for larger version
