2012 Subaru Tribeca as TOAD

Does anyone know if this vehicle can be towed 4 down?
Thinking about replacing the DW's car now and I may want to get a MH later. Would hate to buy a car we can't tow.

I own a 2006 Tribeca, and my owner's manual says that with an automatic transmission (standard on Tribecas I believe), you can't tow it unless all four wheels are off the ground and the transmission is in park.

Thank you for responding.

Darn, I really like the car.
I may just have to buy a carrier if I go the MH route.

Quick question Lou.........

I've read your responses for quite awhile on the forum, and count you as an informed and experienced RVer. Just wondering why you may be considering the changeover to a MH after all your time with a trailer unit?

Has anyone asked Subaru if their vehicles can be dolly towed IF a driveshaft disconnect is also installed between the transmission and the rear wheels?

We're thinking of dolly-towing our Kia Sedona for a couple of seasons, but I'd like to replace it with a Forester at some future time.

Subaru Tribeca as toad

Lou,
Perusal of the Subaru web pages came up with the owner's manual for the 2011 model year here Subaru Tribeca Service Schedules and Owners' Manuals

I dug through the manual and the only place they reference towing the vehicle is in section 9 on page 9-14 (Page 319) of the pdf.
Also on page 9-18 (Page 323) they say
"The traveling speed must be limited to less than 20 mph (30
km/h) and the traveling distance to less than 31 miles (50 km). For
greater speeds and distances, transport your vehicle on a flatbed
truck. "

Not looking too good for 4 down towing, boss.
All else fails call your local Subaru dealer.
They do make some great cars.

I bought mine in 2005, right after they were introduced to the market (it was my welcome home from Iraq gift to myself). I've got 110k miles on it thusfar, with nary a peep of problems. It's a great car...
