2013 Model Year- TV- Tow rating change

starting in 2013 per article in Popular Mechanic's Feb-2011 - All trucks sold in the US will follow the same rating standard that sets the amount of wieght a truck can pull safely. NTSB said you will see a big drop in what a 1/2-ton truck will be able to safely tow !! They noted this was brought on buy big increases in towing ratings with no changes to supension parts, just changes in the way they tested the trucks. A National standard will have to be used to rate trucks from 2013 and on !!

Well this is a good thing. So many people get caught up in the tow rating of the 1/2 ton trucks, while the reality comes back to bite them later.
