Post 2019 Durango tow a 2019 Flag Staff 25LB Micro Lite?

Looking to get a 2019 Durango R/T with the Hemi and Tow Package. Anybody see any concerns with this pulling a Forest River 2019 Flag Staff 25LB Micro Lite (no slide outs either).

This is the first camper that we've owned, so we're a bit new to all of this. Learning as we go.

Welcome. You will receive allot of answers. the only correct one is that is not enough information to answer. Open the door jamb of your vehicle and look at the rated payload. Now subtract loaded tounge weight and all the weight of occupants and gear in the vehicle. If you don't have access weight left over the answer is no.

And for tongue weight, ignore the "dry weight" or UVW number in the brochure.

Per the website, your GVWR (UVW + CC) is 4337 + 1527 = 5854 lbs. So until you can actually load it up and weigh it, assume your tongue weight is about 13%, or 761 lbs. Add 75 for a WDH and you're at 836 lbs. Now subtract 836 lbs from the payload number on your drivers door frame. Whatever is left has to cover you, wife, kids, dogs and any STUFF you put in the Durango.

Also - the payload number will change based on different models and options on the Durango. You need to know the payload number on the exact Durango you buy.

And finally make sure the towing capacity exceeds 5854 lbs. Assuming the model you're considering has the 8,700 lb capacity in the brochure, you should be OK.

Good luck.

You need to post payload capacity and weight of occupants(including driver)and typical cargo in car.

Don't forget to include the weight of fuel in the payload.
A full 24 gallon Durango fuel tank will weigh 168lbs.
As others alluded to, the Durango has the capacity to pull the trailer but the Durango may not have the capacity to carry the load.

Payload capacity already factors in full fuel tank.

Occasionally we tow our similarly sized and weight trailer with a srt Jeep. Same platform as Durango. It does just fine. Good wdh and sway are critical. And yes I am within my payload

Thank you! This helps a ton! Looks like we'll be just below payload capacity. We are using an equalizer WDH as well.

I have a 2017 Durango GT AWD.
I am pulling at 23ft Apex Nano made by Coachmen. The trailer is 3800 dry. I weighted it with my stuff in it but no water as I never carry water till I get close to a campground if I'm not staying at a place that has everything. It was 5000 lbs. In my Durango there is my wife and I, 250lbs and an additional 60lbs of miscellaneous.
My Durango in the spec's said 6200 lb towing capacity. Did my research and could not find anything to contradict that. Until I got the vehicle and looked at the owners manual and it said 6500 with Dodge's towing kit. More research and found out that their kit consists of 1/2 gal. larger radiator, self leveling shocks and a real spare tire. How a spare tire makes a towing kit is beyond me.
I put air bags in my springs and of course have a WDH and I don't even feel it behind me. Trans cooler run at the perfect temperature even going over mountains.

That's my story and if you haven't looked at the Apex Nano I encourage you to do so as it is all aluminum frame with Azdel. There are plans with the same layout as your choice of trailer but much lighter.
