Just get a 350 cost difference is negligible last time I looked.

Also 3/4 ton. And 1 ton are just words these days, as shown by people's numbers. My 3500 drw using scale weight - rating = 2.5 tons so 1 ton means nothing.
In addition to KAADK's comments. Licensing costs are based on GVWR and therefore higher for a 350/3500.

So truck finally arrived today.
Specs: 2019 f250 supercab (not cc), 4x4, short bed, diesel, xlt.
Options:
5th wheel puck system
Tailgate ladder
Ultimate tow package (360* cameras)
Optional center console
Back-up sensors
All weather floor mats
Running boards
3.31 locking axles
sync 3
door sticker PAYLOAD CAPACITY 2,464 lbs.

This is enough payload for what we need, but very little payload to spare. We will be towing an Arctic Wolf 285drl4 (advertised as 1/2 ton towable).
HINDSIGHT BEING 20/20, A 350 WOULD HAVE BEEN A BETTER MATCH!

You can always add the 350 spring kit or air bags, rear ends are the same from the 250 ,350 . right now you're just limited by the 250's spring pack

I just about went through something similar... Wife and I went to look at trading our 2500 6.4 in on a 6.7 diesel ram 2500.. trucks were smiliarily equipped and after test drive I looked at sticker and was mortified to see 1970 pounds of payload. My gas version of the same truck I mean EXACTLY the same had 3140 pounds. We left with a 3500 instead.

You'll be fine with your truck. I have an Open Range 371MBH with a hitch weight of around 2400 and all it did was level the truck....mine is similar to yours, but a Crew Cab.
