2023 Super Duty

Ford unveiled the 2023 tonight. Has some interesting new features for towing, including an option for a built in scale for monitoring payload / tongue weight. Also an optional 2kw generator and bliss that works with a fifth wheel. Nav system can also be set to manage routes based on size & height of your trailer. And backup camera works with the tailgate down. Will be interested to see how these work out when they hit the market.

And buried in the specs - load leveling head lamps!!! I hate towing at night just because the angle of the headlights changes causing irritated drivers to flash there high beams. Hate to adjust my headlights down too much for those few times we tow in the dark, so maybe this is the fix.

And specs say some of the cameras will now work at speed.

Sad thing is, they can't even build what they currently have orders for. MC seats unavailable, trim constraints and now shipping without badges ( to be installed later ). Payload scale is great for the weight police. Overall, not impressed with the 23 media. Release the power numbers and then roll out the build and price page so we can see what's what and what it will cost!

Lot of great features. Too bad it will be unobtainium for the foreseeable future... and it pains me to even think of the price tag on it.

But, I do want one! lol.

Yep who cares about the 2023 when they can't even get the 2022's built. Fix the supply chain issues then worry about the 2023's

And yes I know Ford has little control over the supply issues as they are from other companies and yes I know all major manufacturers are having a problem similar to Ford.

I just need to vent because I want to upgrade but there's nothing to upgrade to unless you want to wait 8 months and pay $65,000 plus.

I was one of the lucky ones. Ordered my 22 on 4 Jan. It was delivered on 22 Mar. BTW: it was just under 60K.

^^^ Never thought I'd say this, but I love that brown color (or whatever Ford calls it) on your truck. Plus, it won't show mud as easily!

On my 2017 it was called "Caribou"
On the new one it's called "Stone Gray". Depending on the light it does look gray sometimes, but I still call it brown.

I was somewhat unimpressed with the presentation.
Too much back patting and not enough "here is what it is."
And that's coming from me, a long time Ford employee!

cboss that 2022 looks as good on you as the 2017.
I'm next and it appears I too will have to abandon the Caribou for Stone Gray.

The info so far is just a teaser. Sounds like the order guide won't come out until later in October when the order bank opens. They are already saying "Spring of 23" for delivery on some trim levels. Build and Price doesn't usually update until after the last of the previous year model is built, so that's a ways out.

I'm curious what all the pricing looks like (going to be painful for sure) but not sure the power numbers matter for anything but bragging rights now.

I'm sure the new 'High Output' PSD option is aimed entirely at topping whomever is in the lead on torque & HP now, and the base gas engine is going from the 6.2 up to a 6.8 which surely is a bump there. I never had complaints about my 6.2 - that was such an improvement over the 5.4.

My brother (full time farmer) practically lives in his trucks. He is on an order list to get a new 1 ton Limited. They are telling him it will be at least 9 months and might possibly be 18 months. They can't guarantee a color or that it will have all the options it is supposed to have, AND it is at least $110k!!
Good grief.

X2. But I am getting better MPG with the 7.3 than with my 6.2, especially around town. Towing is almost the same. Probably due more to the tranny than the engine.

I have a 21 f250 6.2 currently 6,000 MI. It runs fine. For what I do the 6.2 is all I need. My trailer loaded out might reach 6100 lb, and don't see going bigger at this point in my life. With that said, what is Ford thinking doing a model change in this environment where they can't even get the current parts and now they're going to update the electronics and body panels and this that and the other. They could sell everything they made of the old style, which doesn't look old it looks current and I catching. It just seems everything Ford does is out of whack. And their stock price reflects it, I think it's down like 57% for the year, that's way more than the average Big boy company.
I have a few recalls that I haven't gone in for yet. Possible wiper arm failure etc. My friend has a F-350 6.7 model year 2022. And his truck is so screwed up. And they tell him they can't get the parts to make it right for quite a while. I'll say it again what is Ford thinking !!!!!

Hmmm, since they are offering the onboard scales, similar to what is on my F-150, are they also offering "active damping"? I also have that on my F-150 and have found it to be very good at reducing porpoising, much better than my prior truck with same trailer and hitch.

Placed my order for 2023 F-350 Limited dually after the announcement. Waiting to hear how much power the new H.O. 6.7L Diesel will make.

I travel 2-3K miles on a tow trip and the lane centering feature with trailer navigation sold me over my current 2022.

Nice choice on the truck. I ordered on Jan 4 but didn't get it until May 25.

A few nice options on the 2023, but absolutely nothing that makes me regret my purchase.

TWINS!

Nice looking truck! I wish I had your tires. Had them on my 2017 and loved the ride.
