2500 HD 2019 short wife

Does anyone know if there are running boards out there (except $1500 electric) that are closer to the ground for a vertically challenged wife? Thanks

If tou can't find something online maby you can use a local welder and powder coat shop. If not get a nice folding step stool for her.

My wife is only 5-3 and has only a little trouble with the stock factory running boards on my '14 RAM 1500

I searched RAM 2500, 2019 on amazon and found fixed running boards in all price ranges.

When her knee acts up I give her a little lift getting up...

A quick search for year, model, and make of truck combined with running boards, nerf bars, or side steps, gives about a million options for every description, shape, size, height, length, and color. Take your pick.
The chrome, full length, tubular nerf bars with rubber insets under each door, work great for my 5'4" wife and look nice to boot.

I don't recall my 5' 4" DW having any problem getting into our 2015 2500 HD. Had the 6" wide running board added when I bought it. She grabs the grab bar to help her get in, as I do at 6' 2".

I think I have seen assist steps that will have two steps together to help you get in, but then that may have been on higher clearance trucks and may not work for you.

My wife has had back problems for years and was concerned about getting in and out of our new F250 Super Duty 4x4. Her simple solution was to go to Walmart and for like $3.50 bought lightweight plastic step to assist her to the running board. I attached a rope to it and she can pull it in and put it out easily. She's also 5'3" and happy with it.

As I was deciding whether or not to buy my Silverado 2500HD, my wife mentioned that there was no way that her mother could ever climb up into the truck and ride with us (even with the factory-installed running boards).

That sealed the deal for me ... I love my Silverado!

There are so many truck accessory shops out there, you should have no problem walking into one of them and finding exactly what you need.

Here is what I installed and it made it a lot easier for DW to get in and out of the truck even with the 20inch tires. Mine truk is a 3/4 ton. Later RJD

Thanks everyone.. I'll keep looking. She isn't fond of the stool idea. I was wondering what company had nice stainless with a lower drop as the ones I put on aren't quite enough. Her bad hip doesn't help either!

I have Lund steps on mine. On the passenger side, put your fight foot on the step, grab the assist bar with your right hand and step/pull yourself in.
But I refuse to get into any lifted truck.

DW is also vertically challenged, 5'3" I think.

After she totalled her 2006 GMC Yukon XL Denali which was the tow vehicle, the picked out a 2015 GMC Sierra 2500 which had been lifted a little. It's a stretch for her, but since she picked it out she doesn't say anything.

We use 2 stools for my wife who has 2 bad knees and walks with crutches. I bought the aluminum stools with the folding legs from Camping World. After I ran over 3 of them because I forgot to pick them we finally worked out a system whereby she does not shut her door until I have picked up the stools and put her crutches away. Been working for us for over 5 years now.

Nose over toes and up you go! I learned that from a physical therapist and it works. Too often getting into tall vehicles we tend to lean backwards and then try to lift up into the truck. Better to.lean into it. And the good tubular running boards on our 2018 Ram 2500 help. Step, grab the oh Sh** handle, lean in, and up! Good luck!

This brought back a happy memory for me. This is what my 4'11" Mom used to do in Dad's truck.

These are what my wife liked on our 2013 2500. I went with the 3 loop for bed access.

Running boards

I have running boards on my 2019 F-350-tall from the factory.. I carry a fold up step from Wall-Mart $10 to help for shorter people or someone w/ knee issues to get in. It folds flat and can go in the floor board. The combination is stable and easy for my 88 year old, 5' mom. Just tell her the effort is making her legs look "Great". LOL

I'm sure she wouldn't mind a little "assist " ;o) every now and again.

Go online and Google running boards. You'll find more than you can count.
