I always lock ours as well....never forgot the story my father told me from years ago when they were snowbirds going south one year and friends they were traveling with had it happen to them that someone pulled the handle on the hitch when they were stopped for lunch....I make it a part of my hitching up routine.
I use a carabeaner ?? To hold the latch down. Try to look st it every time I get in the TV. Its not ready to take off as it fills the hole and the teeth hang up on the latch when you pull it out.

I will use a lock also, 20 some years and about 4 million miles of truck driving and I have seen it all. many sick people out there that get a kick out of others pain. always do a good pre trip inspection, in route and post trip inspection. Can't be to safe it will save your life and a lot of money.

We have the BD3 hitch from Hensley, no place for a lock. A prankster would have to get into the bed of the truck and know how to release the handle. With the proper tool sent from Hensley it can be released from outside the pickup bed.

I have the in bed universal rails. I have four feet to pin into the rails. I usually do to regular pins and two locking pins. They are not your standard hitch receiver pin which is 5/8". These are 1/2" and I found mine at our local RV dealer parts store.
